CONFIRMATION 2009

On May 17th the family of Redeemer recognizes, Emily Ruth Jones, Kendra Nicole Hutslar and Ethan Glenn Kieffner as they affirm their baptism.  These young people have gleaned wisdom from many pastors and lay people alike. Their formation has truly been one of kind.   Come and join in their celebration!

Spiritual Gift Workshop

The Spiritual Gifts workshop has been rescheduled for October 2009. There will be more details in the coming months.

CLEANING CHURCH AND LAWN CARE

The Property Team has posted 2 sign-up sheets on the bulletin board in the narthex. One is for lawn care and the other one is for cleaning the church. If you have a talent for either of these duties please help by signing up. Your church family needs you!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Don’t forget that VBS is the week of June 14th! The theme for VBS this year is Crocodile Dock. “Where Fearless kids shine God’s light.” We still have openings, so be sure and invite a friend or two!

SOAP SUNDAY

The Social Ministry Team will be collecting soap for Lutheran World Relief on May 16th and 17th. Remember there are some folks who don’t even have a bar of soap and what an amazing ministry a bar of soap can do. Think how many folks that could be touched if everyone would bring in one bar of soap.

TELEPHONE PRAYER CHAIN

Much concern has been expressed as prayer requests are not making it to the end of the prayer chain list. Let’s meet Sunday, May 17th immediately following the worship service. Discuss possible new procedures, i.e. e-mail list and phone list to rededicate our commitment. Do you still want to participate? New folks are welcomed. ROUND TABLE DISCUSSIONS

The Round Table Discussions will be held on Tuesday, May 12th at 6 pm. The purpose of the Round Table Discussions is to have all teams come together to discuss what they are doing and purpose a direction for our church family. The church council will meet at 7 pm following the Round Table Discussions so that all concerns can be brought to the council. Please plan to have someone from your team attend the Round Table Discussions.

ROGATION SUNDAY

Redeemer Lutheran Church will celebrate a Rogation Sunday on May 24th. Rogation Sunday, a time of celebration and prayer, is a time set aside to appreciate and recognize our dependence upon the land for our food and most importantly upon our dependence of God for the miracles of sprouting seeds, growing plants, and maturing harvest.
