If you find yourself in a place of darkness, trust God. Relax. Breathe. Trust God. Remember the light outshines the darkness. "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not" (The Gospel according to St .John 1:5) "Even in the darkest, most ominous room, it only takes a pinhole of light to pierce the shadows and eradicate the blackness" (Jongen, Kristen). Believing in the restoration of God, we begin to let go of the struggle. Darkness will seek to distract even the most vigilant of believers. As we accept this darkness as being a part of the human condition, we will feel relief. Humans have limits. Our willingness to surrender to the merely human flesh and bones, fears and desires of the flesh lose their influence. God’s will is for us to place God at the center of our ENTIRE beings while turning our will and our lives over to the care of God. My hope for us, people created to live in freedom from both fear and estrangement from the love of God, is trust that we see the light of God with us.
